Direct cremation is offered to answer the specific requests of families who choose
the most simple, dignified and economical means of arranging their loved-one’s funeral.
This is a lower cost option and practical alternative when compared to a traditional funeral service
The Deceased is first cremated without any initial service or procession.
A memorial service can then be held, if desired, following the cremation,
and at a time, date and location more convenient, and perhaps more fitting.
What our Direct Cremation Package includes:

Continual guidance and support at this most difficult time

There are some important forms that will need to be filled in, signed, and returned. This will include the agreement and application for cremation. This can be done at our premises or by post.

Care of the deceased in our Chapel of Rest. Your loved one may be dressed in one of our gowns or in clothes supplied by you.

Collection from hospital, private home, nursing/care home between 8.30am and 4.30pm

Oak veneer coffin fitted with 2pr handles and name plate suitable for cremation

Transfer to the crematorium in our specialist vehicle

Cremation fees for an unattended cremation at a crematorium of our choosing

Delivery of cremated remains. Collection of cremated remains. Scattering of cremated remains at the crematorium gardens.

The cremation process is exactly the same as for more traditional services – everyone is cremated individually and the ashes are carefully collected at the end for the handing over to the bereaved. Dignity and respect is maintained at all times.
* There may be additional Doctors fees of £164.00 which we are unable to confirm until we have collected your loved one. A fee of £190.00 may be charged if collection of the deceased takes place between
4.30pm and 8. 30am, £145 or £290 Out of Hrs, Bank Holiday and weekends. For collection outside of the local area (20 miles or more), there may be a fee of £1.50 per additional mile will be charged.
Get Help With Funeral Costs
You could be entitled to a Funeral Expenses Payment (also called a Funeral Payment) if you get certain benefits and need help to pay for a funeral you are arranging. If you require further specific information regarding assistance with funeral payments, we will be happy to discuss these with you.
In order for us to keep our costs down we do require cleared funds three days prior to the cremation taking place (excluding DWP applications). This can be made by either bank transfer, cheque or cash.
